One would think that Jennifer Tilly didn’t have to travel far to pursue her acting career since she was born in Los Angeles, California. However, Tilly’s journey into acting was a long, winding one which took her from British Colombia to acting school in Missouri.  Once Tilly returned to California, she found plenty of success throughout the 80’s and 90’s as an actress.  Jennifer has starred in Hill Street Blues, Seed of Chucky, Bound, The Getaway, and Let it Ride over the years.  Tilly was also married to Simpsons producer Sam Simon for 8 years.

Her acting accomplishments and high profile marriage aside, many people today know Tilly as one of the world’s top female poker players.  Jennifer began playing poker in home games during the 90’s after starring in the gambling film Let it Ride, and has never looked back.  In 2003 Tilly started entering tournaments which lead her to eventually meet her current boyfriend and poker pro Phil Laak in 2005. 

2005 was also the year in which Tilly would notch the biggest accomplishment in her poker career by winning the 2005 WSOP Ladies No-Limit Texas Hold’em event.  The win not only earned Tilly $158,625, but it also gave her a WSOP gold bracelet which makes her one of the few women in the world to have one.
